Compassion and Choices of CT

Compassion and Choices is working diligently to expand end of life care options in the state of Connecticut.  MAID or Medical Aid in Dying is currently only legal in 12 states.  Connecticut is still not one of them.

CT Green Burial Grounds

A local organization looking to promote green cemeteries and green burial in our state.

Death Cafe

At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death.
Their objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the          most of their (finite) lives'.
A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or                      themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session.

Death Over Drafts

Death over Drafts started with a brewing vision to bring people together to create meaningful connections by combining two passions—craft beer and conversations on end-of-life.
Death over Drafts is a casual and fun community event to spark connection and is part of a growing movement to destigmatize important conversations on end-of-life.
A  terrific pairing with Death over Drafts is The Death Deck, a welcomed conversation starter that lets us explore a topic we’re all obsessed with but often afraid to discuss.

Five Wishes

The nation’s only national advance care planning program. Providing peace-of-mind for              more than 25 years.

Funeral Consumers Alliance CT

A non-profit, non-sectarian, all volunteer organization dedicated solely to providing            information on end-of-life decisions. They cover all of Connecticut, and their goal is to help their members and the general public to make informed, affordable choices in accordance with their personal beliefs.

Global Green Burial Alliance

The Global Green Burial Alliance is a free pledge membership networking organization dedicated to promoting and providing critical information and education concerning any and all eco-friendly funeral options globally.

National Home Funeral Alliance

The mission of the NHFA is to educate individuals, families, and communities about caring for their dead. You can purchase their home funeral guide here.
